Rep. Mike Kelly: 91% of new stimulus not for COVID relief
UPDATED 2:50 PM PT – Tuesday, March 2, 2021
During an interview at CPAC over the weekend, Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) criticized the COVID stimulus bill, saying 91 percent of it is not for COVID-19 relief.
Kelly argued most of the money in the bill goes to bailing out Democrat-led states, who are already sitting on billions of dollars.

“If you look at where the money is going, to Democrat states, Democrat-led states. So the numbers themselves are pretty raw and I think people go online and look at them, but the item for item for item, so what in this spend is actually going to help people that have had COVID, and then you get down to the point, no it’s not,” Kelly stated. “It’s going to go for a lot of other features, a lot of other promises that Speaker Pelosi made and that’s what’s going to come to fruition right now.”
The congressman went on to say the relief package is not free government money and is coming out of taxpayers pockets.
