South Carolina Representative-Elect Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) weighed in on the historic number of GOP women heading to Capitol Hill in 2021.

In an interview on Sunday, Mace said this year’s elections were an exciting time because the Republican party had more women running.

Mace also highlighted the fact that of the 27 toss-up races, 26 were won by women, minorities and veterans. She added this is the future.

She discussed the record number of Democrat women who ran in 2018 and said they are not the only ones who can represent the American people.

“If we don’t get on board with recruiting the right people, then we’re going to lose in the future,” Mace said. “It’s really important that our values of freedom and entrepreneurship can speak to folks all across the country from all walks of life.”

The Republican also encouraged women to run every two years during election cycles.
