Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar touted the ongoing progress of ‘Operation Warp Speed.’

On Tuesday, Azar stated that while vaccines are on the verge of approval from the FDA, other therapeutics from ‘Eli Lilly’ and ‘Regeneron’ are already in use or in the process of distribution.

This came days after Regeneron received Emergency Use Authorization from the FDA. According to reports, officials have already begun distributing the treatment. They have the goal of distributing at least 30,000 in the coming weeks.

The Health and Human Services secretary also explained who would qualify to access the first doses of the recently approved antibody cocktails.

“If you test positive for COVID-19 and are over 65 or have underlying conditions that put you at high risk for severe disease, you may have access to a treatment that can help you,” Azar stated. “You should get in contact with your local provider or your state health department.”

The HHS secretary called on COVID-19 survivors to donate blood within three months of their recovery, which would allow for drugmakers to continue the production of antibody treatments.

Regeneron expects to produce at least 300,000 doses by early January.
