The FBI has opened a probe into millions of robocalls which tried to suppress voter turnout on Election Day.
On Tuesday, the Bureau said unidentified robo-callers told millions of Americans to ‘stay at home’ on Election Day and amplified coronavirus fears. Some robocalls also conveyed false information about long lines at polling stations.
Experts said the calls may be targeting Republican voters who tend to vote in person on Election Day, while many Democrats vote by mail.

The FBI added robocalling could be a way to wreak havoc and chaos in the U.S. and may amount to election-meddling.
