Chambers has said the two took a trip last month and hiked through the Narrows for her 19th birthday. However, she stated her 38-year-old mom decided she wanted to go back for a solo trip.
Courtier reportedly lost her job due to the pandemic and bought a van to travel to different national parks.
“She was an avid hiker, anytime that she had free time she was out, even in California, hiking,” said Chambers. “This was something that was very close to her heart.”
The National Park Service has taken charge of the investigation. They are using drones and helicopters to aid in their search.
“I want her to keep fighting,” added Courtier’s daughter. “We’re not going to stop.”
