President Trump has reversed his position on another round of coronavirus stimulus. On Friday, the President called for a bigger relief package with higher spending and stated he would like to see a deal.

“I would like to see a bigger stimulus package, frankly, than either the Democrats or Republicans are offering,” he said. “I’m going in the exact opposite (direction) now.”

This came after the President previously suggested ending stimulus talks because House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wasn’t negotiating “in good faith.” Democrats also wouldn’t budge on their $2.2 trillion proposal, which GOP lawmakers said was too high.

“I would like to see a bigger package, I’d like to see money going to people,” added President Trump. “It was not their fault that China sent in the plague.”

Moving forward, White House Communications Director Alyssa Farah reiterated the administration is “willing and eager” to make a deal, but will go no higher than $2 trillion.
